I just happened upon this state park while I was visiting close. I spent the day there and it is amazing. There are a lot of easy, shady hiking trails (with a boardwalk). You can swim in a natural cool spring, canoe or kayak, or just walk around and enjoy the wildlife and the unspoiled wilderness. I saw a lot of squirrels, some ibis, and several tortoises, including a protected gopher tortoise. There was a young man there who was a volunteer and he directed me to a little wildlife / reptile center; I would have missed it had he not directed me to it. I was glad he did.

Inside, they had some snakes, a baby alligator and some tortoises. It was very interesting and he was so knowledgeable about everything in there. It is a great little place to take kids into and show them these reptiles. It was cheap to get in, $4. Well worth it to spend a beautiful day in this wonderful state park; I am so glad I went.
