And your winner for the NUMBER ONE most wanted DC Omnibus for 2018 was John Byrne’s Superman! While it is available in TPB (some people OOP) the run is well deserving enough from it’s quality and popularity to be re-released in a premium format. Given the recent Superman Omni releases I’m extremely surprised this one isn’t on the docket for release yet, but with Bendis having borrowed the Man of Steel title and the general release format for Byrne’s legendary run I feel like it would make a ton of sense for the publisher to put out Omnibus editions for Byrne’s Superman. DC’s MOST WANTED OMNIBUS 2018 RESULTS 5-2 5 - Justice League International Vol. 2 4 - The Question by Dennis O’Neal 3 - JLA by Grant Morrison 2 - Batman by Scott Snyder The top five is clearly populated by some hugely popular runs. 2 on here just shows how greatly popular and much wanted that series really is. Only a small amount of content past the first omnibus has ever been collected, so this would be the first time we see a lot of that work in ANY format.

The Question has risen into the top five, which I know will make a lot of people very happy. This legendary run is perfect to fit into one nice sized, but not TOO big, omnibus. Hopefully it happens soon Morrison’s material has been largely getting the Omni treatment this past year or so. Final Crisis, Seven Soldiers, and Batman all counted among that. While JLA is all available via OHC it’s clear that the format preference is strong with this one and people would love to have it in a volume to match the rest of his work that’s been “omnibized.” Snyder’s Batman has been towards the top of a ton of peoples lists for a while before I did last years poll. Now that that series is concluded and Snyder/Capullo have one more (out of continuity) tale they’re wanting to tell I think it would be perfect time to start a series of Omnis for this run.

Hopefully that would also include his Pre New 52 work and All-Star as well. DC’s MOST WANTED OMNIBUS RESULTS 2018 9-6 Coming down to the end of it all 9 - Starman by James Robinson 8 - Flash by Mark Waid 7 - Swamp Thing by Alan Moore 6 - Green Arrow by Mike Grell Format preference is definitely the name of the game here.

Starman of course is popular for having the six volume omnibus set which is becoming harder to find by the day, but people are still clamoring for new Omnibus editions for that series considering it’s not available in an oversized format. Swamp Thing by Alan Moore was out number one spot by a HUGE landslide last year, but it’s fallen to seventh place this year. I’ll say that is DEFINITELY due to the fact that an Absolute edition has been announced. Seems like a lot of people dropped that from their #1 stop, but were still interested in the Omni format for the run. The other two here are popular runs available via TPB, but are definitely wel deserving of the Omni treatment. Our next four will follow soon and then later the number one most wanted!
