I just bought a FAL rifle. STG58 parts on an Enterprise Type 3 receiver. Some of the parts are also from DSA Arms. The rifle has chipping black paint, which I'm in the process of removing.

Some of the parts are also covered in what appears to be preservative grease. I'd like to remove the bipod legs, gas tube, extractor, and butt stock. I also need to buy a new safety selector, as this large one interferes with the trigger (I'm a lefty). Also, I might buy a wooden butt stock and a carry handle for the rifle. I've seen various parts/tools for sale online, but I haven't seen one dealer that has them all. Where is a good place to buy?

I don't want to pay multiple shipping charges. Sarco has what is listed as a new butt stock, and has the buttstock removal tube, extractor tool, but no carry handle and no selector available.

Another retailer has the selector, carry handle, multi tool, and extractor tool, but no butt stock. Also, I'm not sure I want to spend $75 for tools. Any suggestions? Also, I'll probably need to remove/clean the hammer spring as it has sticky grease, and I'll need some info on gas adjustment. SARCO does have a book on FALs, but I'm not sure what type of information the book has. The gas is easy once you understand one vital thing.

It the exact opposite of what you'd do instinctively. The numbers are related not to how much gas you're gong to use, but how much you're going to vent. Higher numbers are lower gas & vice-versa. Setting FAL gas correctly (with an auto Bolt Hold Open). Clear the rifle. Screw the gas regulator in fully till it stops.

Back off 1 full turn, no more. Load several magazines with a single round. Insert a magazine into the rifle. Pull the charging handle FULLY back. Release it, just let it fly, do not “guide it.
