Quick question about installing a bathtub. It's one of the plastic/ fiberglass style tubs with a built in wood platform and horizontal wood level/ stands under it. I read two different things on this: When attaching the lip of the tub (that goes under tile and drywall) to the studs with a galvanized screw or nail, does it go over the top of the lip, holding it firmly against the stud? I read an install instruction online and it said to drill through the lip of the tub itself.

I've also seen it done with a screw and washer to hold it tightly to the sides. Question 2: Install didn't say to use any calk or foam on under the tub (It's on a slab) Just making sure.

Using wood door shims to get it level, was thinking a little calk would help slipage when getting level. Thanks in advance.
